Very recently I had an internal meeting with myself and decided to focus more on the things that really matter to me, and rid myself of useless/unwanted/unwelcome baggage that I had been toting around for the last 6 or 7 years of my life. I didn’t really have a plan, just sort of setting down guidelines for future decisions and responses. Today I was looking at my music collection and realizing how little of it I actually listened to today, and wondering if I would ever listen to these songs again. One thing snowballed into another and I ended up deleting 2/3 of my music collection. 2/3. Of everything I used to lovingly take care of and cherish.

Immediately after I did that, I walked to the kitchen, stared at the floor, got some yogurt, went back to the computer, stared at the wall, then stared at the table, opened my yogurt, and stared at my yogurt. Any minute now I’m going to have a nervous breakdown or start curling into a ball or cry or something.

I feel a little liberated though. I discovered what I liked and what I wanted. I learned to let go of the things that did nothing but take up space and remind me of memories I wanted to forget. Even though this was just a tiny victory on a unseen frontier, it is the beginning of the change that I strive for. Wait what? What am I saying? I FEEL LIKE A PIECE OF MY SOUL HAS GONE TO THE DEPTHS OF THE UNDERWORLD

There’s nothing really else to say except that these goats are pretty awesome.

When he shows Seattle (the last one) it’s actually at this place called Gasworks, which is somewhere I run to frequently. It’s not relevant to the video in any way, but I feel like a sub-celebrity for having been there.

I absolutely am not concentrating right now for my two finals tomorrow. A calm has washed over me. Kind of like the calm in the center of hurricane before you know you’re just about screwed and you’re just being inappropriately placid. I’m like that person you see on the news reporting in the middle of a hurricane and saying how terrible the hurricane is going to be and that all of you watching at home will be able to see the exact moment the hurricane hits because I’m going to be standing out there in the storm in the middle of the live wires from the broken electric lines and wreckage and 140 mph wind being calm and tranquil.

Wow. That was intense.

The choreographers were “hella dope” (these girls to the right of me kept on saying “hella dope hella dope hella dope”) and OFF THE WALL crazy. Steve Bolton had the sickest isolations I’ve ever seen, but we probably didn’t pull it off as clean as he did. But what’s even cooler are these 10-12 yr old girls from Kolanie’s PG Kids that seriously showed us up. They learned the choreo the first time it was introduced us and basically killed everybody when we split up into groups and performed it.

I wish I had the actual dance that we did, but I don’t. So too bad.

Kolanie and Hayato usually teach us every week at Westlake, but Steve is from Montreal or somewhere really far away. Actually everyone in that workshop was from really far away (David Moore just got done teaching in Russia, Stephane is from Quebec. Stephane started talking in French to us sometimes. Ça va?).

When I went to our Level II/III class yesterday, I felt like it was really easy compared to the 6 hours I had just experienced over the weekend. It’s really weird when you see a blatant improvement happen just like that. Usually it takes a while.

Also, goodbye to our favorite teacher and inspiration, Lisa Medford, whose moving to L.A. to teach dance and catch bigger fish. (The one in the red to the left of Kolanie)

Oh, also, the rental guy signed the 2nd and 3rd ‘visit’ when it was only suppose to be the 1st visit, isn’t that awesome? More free stuff for me.
